Here's a little photo documentation of March in the Hiemstra House.
Katie's puzzling craze continues...
When my mom was here she reminded me of how obsessed Katie was with puzzles when she was little. I remember one incident when she sat on the puzzle and cried because her brother was trying to help her. She still doesn't want any help.
One podophyllum started coming up! This is one of our favorites. I love this time of year when the perennials start poking through.
Holly and James went to a wedding in Michigan. They sent me some pics of them all spiffed up.
John took his annual golf trip to Palm Springs with his buddies. The long weekend started out rainy but looks like they got some sunshine too.
I usually don't feel too sorry for them if the weather isn't great, this is actually what they go there for!
Cards and beer...
And this one they sent to make me jealous.
The project for this spring/summer is yard clean-up. John came to the conclusion that he probably has enough wood to last him his entire life, so he sold some logs. It's not easy for him to let them go.
Harvey came over to help him clean up the area and for emotional support.
Katie started another tennis season. She made varsity this year which led to her getting a new partner. She was pretty apprehensive at first because her and Savannah had played so many years together but I think in the end it was a good thing. She was challenged and ended up making some new friends.
Wrapping up with some pictures from this year's TOLO (girl asks the boy) dance.
Unfortunately, I was at a women's retreat but John took lots of pictures for me.
Lots of fun to watch them! I think they ended up winning every match but one. Also a bonus...the varsity coach grills hot dogs for every home game!
Our dear, sweet Auntie Grace passed away. She was definitely one of the kindest people I have ever met and I'm so happy we had so many good memories with her. She was a HUGE blessing to my family when we moved to Washington.
Unfortunately, I was at a women's retreat but John took lots of pictures for me.
This girl has her dad wrapped around her little finger and I'm fairly sure she loves him the best. Every once in a while I have to remind her that I really had to work on him before he agreed our family wasn't quite complete. He denies that but it's totally true.
Yes, these were taken in our shop. It was a rainy day so John moved a bunch of stuff around so they could have a dry place to take photos....case in point regarding the wrapped around his finger.
