Last Day

Today is my kiddos last day of school. YEAH! Do you think they've changed much over the school year? August 2009

This one just wishes she was in school!

And here is my new purse. I got it yesterday. I didn't need a new purse. In fact, I need a new purse like I need a hole in my head (my mom always used to say this, what exactly does that mean anyway mom?) Anyway, I got a new purse because sometimes a girl just needs to get a new purse. That's all I have to say about that.

Another poem

Apples have a core
Peaches have a pit
The sun is shining today
I'm loving it

Flashback Friday

This picture was taken exactly one year ago today. The beautiful little gal with Sam is his bestest girl Becca. She is the daughter of my friend (and favorite photographer) Julie. It was a hot day and they were just starting to enjoy a little snack after they had run through the sprinkler and then played in the dirt pile. I love this picture for two reasons:
1. It reminds me that summer is coming.
2. Becca is dirty. Julie's kids are never dirty.

Two year photo shoot continued

Here are some pictures from Katie's "official" photo shoot. The one where she was very uncooperative. The one where in between the crying, pouting, refusing to stand, refusing to sit, and just plain naughtiness, my good friend Julie (who is an amazing photographer) managed to get a few good shots of my precious baby girl who is growing up way too fast.

And before you say, "Now DeAnn, I think you were exaggerating, that girl looks like an absolute angel." Check these out...
That one is actually my favorite. I know my mom is going to say she looks just like me.

Katie's two year photo shoot

Two things to say:
1. Katie was less than cooperative.
2. My friend Julie is very patient. I owe her...big time.
Of course, when we get into the car and strap her into her carseat she is all sunshine and happiness. She jabbered and giggled the whole way home. John and I decided to take advantage of her good mood and try our own little photo shoot. John was the photographer and I was the entertainment. We got some good ones...

She heard a dog barking in this one so she's saying, "Where da puppy go?"

Holly and Katie enjoyed an Otter pop afterwards. I love how they match what they are wearing.

Katie in the big boy shoes.

Hey! I found my camera

Which means you're in luck because now I can show you pictures of...
Holly's awesome violin solo...Holly and her friend Kendra playing a duet. Look how they are reading their music - it was something like one started at the bottom and one started at the top. I didn't quite understand what they were doing but it sounded really cool...
Holly taking Katie to Build-a-Bear for her birthday...

Gary making progress on my bathroom...

Yes, that is a tile!

One more thing...I forgot to wish my mother-in-law a HAPPY BIRTHDAY yesterday. Just for clarification - I didn't forget it was her birthday, I just forgot to mention it on the blog. I think the rain distracted me. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEPPE! These little pups can't wait to see you in just a couple more weeks!

Wordy Wednesday

I have seemed to misplaced my camera so I am unable to post the picture I was going to use for this week's edition of Wordless Wednesday. It was a really cute one of my daughter Holly who is not only beautiful but also very talented. She rocked her violin recital on Saturday. In my humble opinion, she was the bestest one there. Bach would have been proud.
So anyhoo, I guess I will treat you guys to a little poetry instead.
I made this up meself.

Apples have a core
Peaches have a pit
It's raining here again
I'm getting sick of it

Now you know where Holly gets all of her artistic abilities from.
