Some Random Stuff

Where did January go?  Tough to believe it's almost over.  Usually I don't like January.  January is dark and cold and long.  And this January we got snow too.  You know I don't like that stuff.  However, this January wasn't so bad.  Maybe it was because my favorite Michigan girl came home (blog post on that later) or maybe it's just because I am getting old and forgetting how much I am suppose to dislike January.
I turned 49 on the 9th.  49.  Ugh.  That means next year is a big one.  I don't want to think about that.  I have already told John that I do not want a party and I do want to go to Hawaii.
I got new living room furniture.  That is pretty exciting.  John and I picked it out picked it out together and it was a relatively painless process.  We need a recliner yet but I think we got that picked out too.  Here it is in all it's beautifulness.
Just so you know, I usually have my Christmas tree down way before now but we had to leave it up since we were going to be celebrating Christmas with Holly.
Katie got a hoverboard for Christmas and she rides it all the time.  I am fairly sure her legs no longer work when she is inside our house.
Yes, we eventually did get snow (and 3 snow days) but it wasn't nearly as bad as they predicted it would be.
TOLO got cancelled due to the snow and they rescheduled it for last Saturday.  Sam's date (and some of his friend's dates) couldn't go because they were in the high school musical.  The guys decided to go watch the show the night of the dance.  My friend Julie sent this picture to me.  None of them look too broken-hearted that they couldn't go to the dance.  So thankful for good friends for my boy...and me too (thanks Julie!)
Here's my Packer's fans before the big game - Packers versus Seahawks.  Sam and Katie proudly wore their jerseys to school the next day and I am happy to report that neither one got beat up.
We just won't talk about that Packers versus 49ers.
Katie had some friends over for a sleepover and they had a baking competition.  John, me, and Uncle Gary (who happened to be eating supper with us that night cause Aunt Sally was out of town) got to be the judges.  They even had little stories written up to go with their cupcakes.
It was a very difficult decision.
And here's a picture of my dog because she's cute and occasionally she is my most favorite member of our family.
