2022

Here we are in a new year already.  Lord willing, my family has a lot happening in 2022.  My boy graduates from high school, my baby graduates from eighth grade, Holly goes to Africa, John and I celebrate 30 years of marriage.  Who knows what else this year will hold?  I'm just super grateful to know WHO is holding this year.

Here's a little wrap-up of 2021.

Holly came home for Christmas!  This was the first Christmas she's had off since she started working.  We didn't do anything real special but had lots of precious family time together. Since the weather was pretty yucky most of the time she was home, we stayed inside and played lots and lots of games.

The last couple of years we've made it a tradition to see a movie together (like actually in a theater) at Christmas time.  This year Holly and I got out-voted by the other three and we saw "Spiderman".
I have to admit that I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.  Mostly, because I understood what was going on.  I knew this was like the 20th-something Spiderman and I was afraid I would be confused so my sweet Katie put together a power point presentation on the history of Spiderman and presented it to John and I before the movie.  It really helped!
This is what Holly and I really wanted to see.
We did go a couple days later and watched it.  So good!  Even better than Spiderman!

We also had our annual Christmas viewing of "Muppet's Christmas Carol".  It's everyone's favorite!  We let Paige in on the action this year too.

On Christmas Eve we had appetizers, played games and opened presents.
Aunt Amy had sent us a box of bake-at-home pretzels.  They were delish!
The chocolate fondue is always a big hit!

The kids thought Carly should be allowed into the house to get her Christmas present and I'm a softy so I allowed it - but only in the laundry room.
Patiently waiting for her Christmas bone.

Christmas day was spent at Gary and Sally's with family.

We got more snow so the girls and John went outside to sled one day.
I did not.

Holly left on the 29th.  It was hard to see her go but we are thankful for good flights home and excited for all her adventures coming up in 2022.
