Carly went to the vet. I think official diagnosis was "her ears are a hot mess". Apparently, she got some sort of bacterial infection in them, most likely from swimming in the creek.
She doesn't mind the vet but she hates ear drops. This is Katie trying to "convince" Carly to come into the laundry room so we could put them in. That was not an easy job.
Lucy the cat is healthy and does not need medication of any kind but she still felt the need to hide.
Katie started another tennis season. So far, her and her partner Savannah are undefeated. Their dads think it is because they practiced with them last summer!
I'm not sure if that's entirely accurate but they have improved a lot.
More tennis buddies.
In anticipation of our mule ride, Rod and Sharon took me riding one beautiful afternoon.
Good views, good company and my butt didn't hurt that night. I'd call it a success.
Dordt's choir came to Lynden over their Spring break. LC's choir got to join them in a couple songs before the concert. Katie is in that bunch somewhere.
Sam spent part of his Spring Break in Texas with friends.
And the other part in Wisconsin with family. Him and his cousin Jess are four months apart and have always been super close.
Uncle Doug put him to work assembling some new chairs.
And Aunt Sue sent me this picture of Sam playing SPUD. It's sort of a dodgeball-type game we always played whenever we got together with the Olsons. All the "kids" (who are now in their twenties and thirties) and Uncle Doug went out after Sunday lunch to continue the tradition.
John took a little Spring get-away too. Him and his golf buddies headed to Palm Springs for a long weekend. They've been doing this for a couple years now. This year John and Ken decided to drive to Southern California. John drove through the night with some help from Mountain Dew, beef jerky and a podcast.
The weather wasn't quite as nice as they would have liked (in fact, it was warmer back in Lynden) but they still managed to have a good time.
And since John drove, he was able to take some a souvenir. Apparently, it's "such a good deal in California". Whatever.
Katie and Carly playing in the creek (yes, the creek hat gives Carly ear issues. Sigh.) She's my most outdoors kid. She still likes exploring even though she's almost sixteen.
Exploring one day and all dressed up for a school dance the next!
