Last week today I was flying home from a fabulous get-a-way to Las Vegas with my favorite oldest daughter. I will post about that soon but today I gotta do a little catching up on happenings around the Hiemstra House.
First up, the party barn got a cement floor.
I am super happy to get that project done. I am tired of cement trucks driving on my lawn. The huge ruts the truck makes does not make for a very pleasant riding lawnmower experience. Next up for the party barn? Your guess is as good as mine. Ask the crazy guy I live with.
Sam started soccer.Bad picture but he's really hard to capture when he's running around. SO GOOD to see those boys out there playing again after last year's Covid cancellations. Stupid Covid.
Apparently March 30th was "National Doctor's Day". I'm sure you all remembered to send your doc a card or something. It totally slipped my mind. The office manager at John's clinic handed these out to all the providers. I asked John why he wasn't wearing it. He told me he was working not going to prom. It's just a guess but I'm thinking he would have rather had donuts or the day off.
I was a good mom this year and hid Easter baskets for my offspring that still live with me. They were very excited!
After church I told them they had to take a couple pictures without complaining or I was going to take away all their Easter candy. I told Sam to smile and this is what I got.
He's extremely uncooperative.
Love these two goofballs.
We got Sam a suit for JSB that is coming up soon. I can't wait to see him all jazzed up. He is going to look so handsome. He better be more cooperative for JSB pictures.
We got our dahlia tubers planted. I think we counted about 130 this year. I sure missed my Dad's help. I bet he feels really bad that my mom wouldn't let him come help this year.

And finally, I looked out the window a couple weeks ago and saw John doing this.He was on his tractor completely ripping up my back yard. He said he just couldn't help himself.
In his defense, when I got home from Vegas, the yard was all smoothed out and a couple days he got it all seeded (thanks for your help Todd and Arnold!) so I guess it's okay. He's still crazy though.
